Digital Media Strategist

Job Description:

A successful Digital Media Strategist will provide strategic planning, implementation and ongoing management across all facets of digital media. This position requires expertise within the platforms of paid search, paid social, display and video. He or she will take the lead recommending and clearly communicating strategic media solutions for client business/media objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Accountable for all phases of paid digital campaigns including research, development and writing of plans, presenting, negotiating, buying, optimizing, tracking and reporting
  • Hands-on campaign management, including campaign design and build, actual ad assembly, and QA testing of ads in the platforms outlined previously
  • Analyze and report campaign performance and assess against goals (specific KPIs)
  • Research, track and interpret emerging media trends and how they relate to our clients
  • Work with other members of the media department to develop multi-platform campaigns
  • Train and oversee other members of the department in carrying out the different functions of digital campaigns as noted above
  • Work with other departments to insure media efforts are well-integrated with clients’ overall objectives
  • Gain client trust and respect; building strong client relationships
  • Organize and keep specs up-to-date
  • Work to maximize department efficiency/effectiveness
  • Participate in new business efforts
  • Manage deadlines and work in an efficient manner

Job Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree with 4+ years digital media planning and buying experience for both B2B and B2C clients
  • Expertise in Google Ads and Analytics, social media platforms, optimization strategies, remarketing, advanced targeting strategies, conversion tracking, ad serving tools and reporting technologies
  • Demonstrated experience and enthusiasm collaborating with other strategists, creatives, and account teams
  • Strong point of view regarding the role and value of digital marketing in brand building
  • Passionate about continuous learning and professional skill development
  • Expertise in SEO preferred
  • Understanding of ad specs, basic creative build and website design
  • Basic understanding of media tactics outside of digital
  • Sound analytical thinking with good quantitative skills
  • Results-focused – deliver client metrics and follow-up analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience presenting strategic plans and ideas to clients
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines at once
  • Skilled at critical thinking—able to analyze problems/situations and determine best course of action
  • Self-starter, detail-oriented, sincere, hard working
  • Strong work ethic
